Bernie Wrightson’s artwork is amazing, but I'm curious if his inspiration for Frankenstein's face was Michael Jackson?

Re: Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein

THIS IS GREAT NEWS AGAIN...OL'FRANKIE BOY HAS BEEN LET DOWN BY HOLLYWOOD FOR SO MANY YEARS...BUT THIS SOUNDS LIKE A PERFECT MATCH OF DIRECTOR AND FANTASY LEDGEND...
GOTHICY/HORROR WITH THE BEAUTY THAT DEL TORRO BRINGS TO HIS FILMS...SHOULD BE A KNOCKOUT!!!

Re: Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein

This remake being brought to you by the letter L" and the number "5".

On a serious note, I'll be interested to see what Del Toro brings to this classic monster. Could be some freakin' amazing visuals!

Re: Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein

790 here,,, just wanna say "Frankenstein" is the REMAKE OF THE WEEK !!!

(Fanfare, music!! )

Re: Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein

Rob,

Multiple links in comments trigger moderation.

I've posted it for you.

Vic

Re: Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein

ummm...my comment didn't even show from earlier.

Anyways, to summarize what I said.

I'm glad the director will be busy for years to come, he certainly deserves to be.

I look forward to the Hobbit films (although I like the original idea better-that the second film would be a bridge between hobbit and the trilogy and would have characters from the trio).

I wonder if there will be a Hellboy 3, I guess that depends on box office numbers.

As for Franky, I'm not excited about this film as its been done a million times over and a million more times in tv shows and cartoons. I think everyone in the world knows the story and it just wouldn't really offer anything to me. Unless its some completely different take on the film...

Re: Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein

Frankenstein's monster is supposed to be frightening because he looks so incredibly human, yet is not. IMHO this is the perfect opportunity to make use of the "uncanny valley" in CGI - create a humanoid that is upsetting to look at because it's not quite human.

However, I'm sure that del Toro will go for the more classically "scary" look. To each his own.

Re: Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein

Yeah, I would have thought Perlman would have made a much better monster, he's certainly got more of a build for it than Jones.

However we've seen what Del Toro can do with practical effects and costumes in his films. Perhaps he's going for a different looking Frankenstein, not the bulky monster we've seen before.

I'm not familiar with Wrightson’s monster, he does look leaner than most of the onscreen versions.
