Yeah, I have the same feeling Vic. When series two started I was right into it and then suddenly I feel cheated.
We've just spent a series with a bunch of people finding out who they were and how they got on the plane. Series two they're doing the whole thing again with a nother bunch of people. I was starting to feel a bit annoyed at that.
Then the continual single episode twist would pop in and they wouldn't address the bigger issues that they'd put out there and just let.
Then...this is the last one that irks me...in the last four or five episodes (we've just finished series two in the UK) characters making idiotic choices. Why did everyone just ignore Sawyer taking the guns and were laughing and joking with him next day? Why did everyone just leave that and go on as normal...there are so many examples.
I'm with you, it's stretching characters too far from their normal beliefs in order to pull out the contrived plot. I wonder if that is why Abrams is back this season to pull it back on track?

"A Tale of Two Cities" had its problems, but lack of advancement in the island mythology wasn't one of them. I see the show as being about character first, plot second, so the slow reveals and complications don't really bother me.

I didn't realize that Abrams was ever gone from helming the show. If he's back it's because ratings on the show are dropping. And indication that my thoughts on the series are not off-base.

It may have advanced the story, but in my opinion it's advancing plotlines outward from a central point, like spokes in a wheel. I don't mind many threads as long as they merge somehow... look at Tom Clancy novels, those are extremely complex with many different stories within a novel, but eventually those merge into a (very satisfying) whole.
I don't care how interesting the characters themselves are if they're in situations week after week that lead nowhere.

I know what you mean! Its a good show and got some good actors but com'n!!Least give us some hints to keep us intersted! I Think what they dont understand is that if they dont give us just a few answers... that shows not gonna be around long enough for whatever they got planned to tie all the threads together! but whatever... im in it for the romance :P
