It was a movie build around 'oridnary people'

Re: Review: Body Double

I can't believe Im reading a review for "Body Double" this film predates the internet itself.
^
One thing I will say about this movie is that the cool looking flying saucer house that's featured in the film is a real house and its still standing even today...
Ok gotta go my pagers going off.

Re: Review: Body Double

I just watched this movie, although it made my head hurt. I totally agree on the reviewer describing the entire movie, it will save future generations of the pain of watching it. I kept shaking my head in disbelief that this was true, someone actually made this movie, and it's really that bad.

Re: Review: Body Double

Reading your full review made me want to watch it, but like the other guy said, you really have given all of the film away. It sounds good to me. I like films where you hate all or some of the characters, it's real. It gets your back up then you think, [expletive deleted], it's only a film. The dude that started this blog reminds me of Mary Whitehouse. The stupid [expletive deleted] would sit through hours & hours of porn then ban everyone from watching it, saying it was filthy sick debauchery. Yes, we know, give us a look you selfish dried up old prune of a [expletive deleted]!!

Re: Review: Body Double

A better adaptation of a Stephen King book than Carrie? How bout Stand By Me, or maybe Misery?

Re: Review: Body Double

Saw that movie once MANY years ago. Even after your review I don't remember it. :-)

Vic

Re: Review: Body Double

I happened to stumble across this wreck last night. The mall scene was amusing. But then... ohh, then, there was the spontaneous make out scene. The spinning and the groping, the fondling and the spinning - damn, it was hilarious. I had a good laugh at Gloria's death as well.

Re: Review: Body Double

Oh lord...I don't know what that makes me then. I like this movie, I really do, and for a lot of the reasons you say you don't.

I love the fact that no one is likable, and that they all have human flaws and pretty nasty traits. Plus that all of them are, in one way or another, out to screw over or use the others.

I'd hardly call Jake a pervert though. His mate says "look at this gorgeous woman through this telescope, she dances topless there every night with her blinds open" you have a drink, and reluctantly and showing embarassment you have a look, and then the next night you're drawn. I think that's more the male drive rather than perverted. The character carries it pretty well.

It's hardly gory though, there's perhaps one scene but it does build tension very well and cuts away from the main action and all you see is some blood and side scenes.

I also can't believe you give so much of the film away in the review! You've basically given away the whole turn of the film.
